"SurfTideWatch" is an application designed to present tide information directly on your Apple Watch. Users can select from approximately 10,000 tide points worldwide on their iPhone and effortlessly synchronize the chosen locations with their Apple Watch.
The app allows the storage of up to five favorite tide locations on the Apple Watch. Users can access up to 2 weeks of tide data, which can be updated at any time via the iPhone. In addition to graphical representations of tide information, users can also track significant astronomical events such as sunrise, sunset, high tide, low tide, and more.
Moreover, "SurfTideWatch" is tailored to support the complications feature on the Apple Watch, with certain complications providing quick access to upcoming tide events.
The process for creating tide data on your iPhone is straightforward. For detailed instructions, please refer to the "Help & Support" section within the app settings.
- Tap the "+" button located at the bottom right corner of the main screen.
- Select the specific area for displaying tide locations on the map from the following seven regions:
- U.S. Upper East Coast (Maine through Virginia)
- U.S. Lower East Coast (North Carolina through Florida Keys)
- U.S. Gulf Coast (East to West)
- U.S. West Coast (North to South)
- Northern sites outside contiguous U.S. (except Japan)
- Southern sites outside contiguous U.S.
- Japan and nearby sites
- Tap on a map pin and choose a location for registration. Locations in close proximity are clustered together, with clustering disabled upon zooming in. Multiple locations can be selected.
- Use the "+" navigation button at the top right of the map screen to return to the main screen.
- Press "Update All" on the right side of the screen to retrieve tide data, which may require a short processing period.
Upon completing these steps, your tide data setup is finished. Lastly, transmit the prepared data to your Apple Watch: If your Apple Watch is connected to your iPhone, tap "≪" at the top center of the screen to synchronize. If there's no connection, select "Save to iCloud," allowing automatic sync when connectivity is reestablished.
Please take note that "SurfTideWatch" exclusively functions as an app for displaying tide information on Apple Watch and should not be utilized for maritime navigation purposes or relied upon for nautical activities.
To enable iCloud functionality, ensure that you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone.
